Working in the fashion industry seems to be something fabulous and easy and is often not taken seriously. We asked Daria Beloyvan, an international fashion expert and experienced stylist, who brilliantly showed herself in the profession and achieved recognition in Russia, Italy, and the United States, about the profession itself and fields of expertise.
Darya told us about the profession of a stylist, how she came to the stylish clothing industry, what projects she is currently leading, where she gets energy for active work and four children, and what helped her survive a difficult divorce from her husband and create new relationships.

GRAZIA: DID LITTLE DARIA IMAGINE THAT IT WOULD BE HER DREAM WORK?
Daria Beloyvan: Of course not. Like many others, I fantasized a pink world of beautiful long-legged maidens strolling in gorgeous dresses on a runway with rose petals. In fact, everything turned out to be not so light-hearted but much more exciting and more prosperous.
GRAZIA: DID YOU DREAM ABOUT WORKING IN THE WORLD OF FASHION FROM CHILDHOOD ?
Daria Beloyvan: Yes, I have always wanted to work in this field. I was not indifferent to beautiful things, buttons, and fabrics. Mom opened this world to me, instilled a sense of style, and taught me to understand fabrics, garments, and patterns. I received higher education in economics, but I always knew who I wanted to be, and in the end, I came to this.
GRAZIA: TO THE QUESTION ABOUT LONG-LEGED BEAUTIES ON THE PODIUM. WHAT IS YOUR HEIGHT?
Daria Beloyvan: 188 centimeters!
GRAZIA: WOW! IT'S A MODEL HEIGHT. DID YOU WORK ON THE PODIUM?
Daria Beloyvan: I started my path in the fashion industry from the position of a model. In the early 2000s, I was one of the top best lingerie supermodels in Russia. For many years I worked with the Wild Orchid Company. I participated in the shows and acted as one of the Wild Orchid Grand Fashion Show stylists. I personally opened the top brand shows. The rise of my career began after I started cooperating with the Moscow Fashion House of Vyacheslav Zaitsev. It was not enough for me to just walk the runway and present the clothes. I've always wanted more. I realized 100% as a model and began to conquer a new direction for myself. This is how the formation of fashion Stylist Daria Beloyvan began.

GRAZIA: WHAT IS THE PROFESSION OF A STYLIST?
Daria Beloyvan: This is what remains behind the scenes of a beautiful picture. One little word, "stylist," combines many directions related to clothing.
Hairstylists: they work at fashion shows and photoshoots: create different images with the help of haircuts or hairstyles.
Costume stylists or costume designers: they work on television, in the theater and stylize films, music videos, videos. The task of such specialists is to dress the heroes of the project. This business requires impeccable taste and a subtle sense of style, and knowledge of current world trends. Most importantly, such work will require in-depth knowledge of the history of costume and fashion.
Stylists-directors: this is the work of stylizing static frames. As a rule, these are various photos. They create visual images, negotiate with stores and brands, and are responsible for costumes.
Fashion show stylists: their task is to accurately convey the theme and mood of the presented designer collection to increase interest collection and delight buyers. It is challenging but exciting.
Commercial stylists: they develop look-books of brands or stores and do everything to attract the target audience's attention to clothes, shoes, or accessories. These people dress mannequins in stores, decorate shop windows, display or hang clothes for sale according to a particular scheme.
Private stylist: this is a specialist to whom people turn for help in getting ready for an important event - a turnkey for a specific case and a specific client.
Stylist-shopper: someone who goes shopping with clients and helps them create looks, choose things, make the right ensembles. Also, such a specialist helps with the analysis of the existing wardrobe.
Stylist-historian: anyone who knows everything and even more about the history of fashion. Such stylists can talk for hours about a particular era, justify why a specific thing was relevant to that time, etc.
Theorist stylist: knows what is fashionable to wear or what garments can be combined together, which suits a specific body type. He will help disassemble the wardrobe, choose what is relevant and suitable, and what should be got rid of.
As you can see, the work of a stylist is diverse. Someone chooses a narrow direction for themselves. Someone is trying to cover the maximum.
Daria Beloyvan: I am just one of those who embrace the immensity. Since 2009, I stylized various shows of the Wild Orchid - from the presentation of new collections to the anniversary show in 2013. Also, I created the bow-book of this lingerie brand. Since 2016, I have been stylizing Zadig & Voltaire shows at Paris Haute Couture by special invitation. I have stylized many photoshoots of famous design brands and editorial projects of glossy magazines. Over the years, I worked in Russia and Italy as a private stylist for VIPs and many millionaire bloggers. I write for my own fashion column, highlight the red carpet, do trend reviews, and analyze famous people's looks. I promote Russian designers abroad and work as a buyer. Last fall, I was invited to stylize the shows for Miami Swim Week 2020. The list goes on. I am interested in everything related to fashion, and I cannot consciously limit myself to the pleasure of doing what I can do well.
GRAZIA: HOW DO YOU SUCCESS TO BE A CAREFUL MOTHER OF FOUR CHILDREN AND A LOVING WOMAN IN THIS SCHEDULE?
Daria Beloyvan: It's a frequent question. I am also asked how I managed to give birth to so many children if I emerged in my career? I have time for everything. The more projects I have, the more I manage to do. Not a single area of my life sags. I know how to properly allocate time resources and always strictly follow the plan. I teach this to my children too. And love ... Love is like air, do you need a separate time to breathe?
GRAZIA: DARIA, WHAT GIVES YOU STRENGTH TO ROLL OUT SUCH MOUNTAINS?
Daria Beloyvan: I am looking for inspiration and positiveness in everything. I had a difficult divorce from the father of my children. Our relationship was far from ideal. I have always told him that his activities are hurting our relationships and destroying the family. But he didn't hear me. As a result, the family broke up. I gave birth to our fourth child without a husband. We parted with him when I was four months pregnant. It was a challenging time. Fashion helped me to recover - I plunged headlong into new projects. Today I can be called an absolutely happy person. I have a favorite job, and I am a demanded specialist who has realized 100% in the profession. I am a happy mother of many children. Fate gave me a meeting with a worthy person, and I regained female happiness, becoming a beloved and loving woman. Altogether, this gives me the strength to create and conquer new horizons.
GRAZIA: WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR CHILDREN TO WORK IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY?
Daria Beloyvan: My guys have great taste. They choose their own clothes every day. But my task was to instill in them the skill of dressing stylishly, harmoniously, and comfortably for them. I will definitely not pull them in one direction or another. Each of us has his own path. My children will make their own choice. I only want them to be happy, realize themselves in their chosen profession, and create happy families.
